To better serve the CSU research community, CSU Ventures has developed the Graduate Student Ambassador Program which enhances the vital connection between CSU researchers and CSUV. This program strengthens CSUV’s visibility and presence among the research community by increasing the awareness and understanding of CSUV’s role across campus.

For the 2016-17 academic year, CSUV is seeking between 5-7 student ambassadors to assist and aid in the development of innovative strategies to reach the following key objectives:

  • Increase understanding and awareness of CSUV’s role across all CSU departments
  • Help CSUV become more proactive in anticipating and identifying innovative research, creative works and potential inventions
  • Support CSU startups in gaining traction within specific industries
  • Participate in planning and implementation of the Fall 2016 Graduate Student Showcase and the 2017 CSU Collegiate Challenge and Innovation Symposium

Qualified applicants

Graduate students in a Masters or PhD degree granting program at CSU in scientific, artistic or technical disciplines are eligible to apply. Applicants must obtain approval from their primary advisor to participate in the program, and must be able to commit 5-7 hours per week to the program (through the end of May 2017). A mandatory 10-hour training will be held in September 2016.

Qualified applicants will show excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively network with students and faculty within their disciplines as well as in other areas. Click here for a complete job overview: Ambassador job overview 2016-2017.
