Kathleen Henry

Kathleen Henry is presently chair of the CSU Ventures Board of Directors. She is also the President/CEO of Colorado State University Research Foundation (CSURF), and President and CEO of the Colorado State University Foundation (CSUF). She is a graduate of Colorado State University. Her career includes eleven years as a commercial banker with United Banks of Colorado and several years as an investment banker with Boettcher and Company.

Ms. Henry returned to her alma mater in 1983 as the Vice President of CSURF. She became President and CEO in 1988. Ms. Henry was asked to fill the additional position of President and CEO of CSUF in 1990 and continues to serve in both capacities providing leadership and vision as the Foundations support the University’s strategic goals.

Dr. Michael Goldblatt

Dr. Michael Goldblatt joined the board in 2015. He earned his BS in Biology at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, in 1974. He earned his MS in Food Science in 1976, his PHD in Nutrition, and his JD in 1980, all from the University of California in Davis, California. He worked as a consultant for McDonald’s Corporation from 1986-2001.

From 1999-2003 he was the Director of the Defense Sciences Office at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency in Arlington, VA. In 2003 he became President and CEO of Functional Genetics, Inc. and he retired in 2013. Currently Dr. Goldblatt works as a consultant for Mars Corporation and is CEO for AIXXIA, LLC, a research stage start-up company.

Bill Christiansen

Dr. Bill Christiansen joined the board in 2015. He earned his BS in Biochemistry at Oregon State University in 1991 and his PHD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology at the University of Notre Dame in 1995. At the University of Washington School of Law Dr. Christiansen earned his JD in 1998.

He was a partner in the Biotechnology and Chemistry practice group at Seed Intellectual Property Group until 2011 and is currently a partner in the Patent Counseling and Prosecution practice group at Cooley in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Christiansen has published legal and scientific articles and has extensive teaching and research experience.

David Conrad

David Conrad joined the board in 2017. He earned a B.S. from University of North Carolina, a Ph.D. in chemistry from University of Illinois, and was a postdoctoral fellow in chemistry at Caltech. He received his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. David works for Streck and joined their team in 2016 to lead Research & Development.

Previously, he was Assistant Vice President for Economic Development at the University of Iowa; Associate Vice Chancellor for Technology Development, University of Nebraska-Lincoln; and co-founder of Emerjent, Inc.
