It is with mixed emotions that CSU Ventures announces the departure of Steve Albers, PhD, Associate Director of our LAUNCHPAD program.   As some may know, in 2014 Steve co-founded Living Ink Technologies, a sustainable biomaterials company.  It comes as no surprise that after several years of development, Living Ink now requires Steve’s full-time attention. While Steve will be missed at CSU Ventures, we are excited that he will be following his dream and we look forward to watching Living Ink flourish and continue to positively impact our world.

Steve Albers, PhD

CTO & Co-founder, Living Ink

We cannot thank Steve enough for the incredible work he has done for us over the years, enhancing our services and developing many of our initiatives, including the Ambassador Program, Demo Day, and LAUNCHPAD programming.  Each of these initiatives has grown into a valued asset for our community.  The Ambassador program has had more than 40 Ambassadors drawn from 21 departments across all eight CSU Colleges. Demo-Day has grown into a premier event for students, faculty and CSU Startups, where we showcase and celebrate the amazing innovative work occurring at CSU that solves real-world problems.

Most recently, Steve completed the sixth cohort of the Research to Market program, successfully delivered in this challenging virtual world.  The R2M program has had over 35 CSU faculty teams participate to complete customer discovery activities, and hosted over 25 teams from our partners at the University of Colorado, Colorado School of Mines, and the National Renewable Energy Lab.  In addition to the R2M program, Steve was pivotal in developing our current set of entrepreneurial workshops and administering the FUEL grant.  We are excited for Steve and his future endeavors, and will miss the dedication and vibrancy he brought to our team.

Please join us in congratulating Steve and wishing him the best.
