Colorado State University leads the nation in integrating sustainability as an every-day way of life on campus, and inspiring development and application of sustainable technologies and methods as part of our robust research program.  Our commitment to environmental and global sustainability is as old as the campus itself and well aligned with the University’s land-grant mission.

Here at CSU, we consciously and deliberately cultivate infrastructure and behaviors that integrate sustainability throughout our campus, to develop an intentional culture focused on improving and creating green innovations and practices. It is this deliberate intention to walk the talk that brings us closer to a truly carbon neutral environment and demonstrates to our community that we are dedicated to creating a better world for future generations.

Furthermore, CSU is devoted to making the world a better place through urban conservation, as more than half of the global population is living in cities.  While urbanization is not expected to slow down in the near future, there is an overuse of resources that encroaches on biodiversity as these populations continue to grow.  Expanding urban management innovations developed at CSU continue to address climate change.  Together with the city of Fort Collins, we can contribute to a sustainable future.
