Eflux logo

Eflux is a company that understands the unique needs of its applied research customers and provides them with cost effective, solution-oriented services for environmental monitoring. The company began with the production of fossil fuel traps which are a cost-effective solution to the complex problem of accurately measuring petroleum biodegradation rates.

Eflux’s products measure naturally occurring biodegradation of Light Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids (LNAPL) such as petroleum by capturing the CO₂ emitted from the contaminated soil and groundwater using a sorbent which help to solve onshore petroleum spills’ environmental challenges.

Eflux currently offers three products: Fossil Fuel Trap – a device that accurately measures petroleum biodegradation rates in soil at spill sites; Map Trap – used to delineate petroleum based contaminated areas by providing a binary indication of the presence of petroleum; and Bio-Therm – a web based thermal modeling tool used to enhance the conceptual site model.
