Jillian Lang, PhD
Director of Licensing & Business Development
Jillian joined CSUV in 2020 and serves as Director of Licensing and Business Development. She spent over 15 years in the College of Agricultural Sciences at CSU. Most recently, she provided oversight and stewardship of external research relationships with corporate, academic, government and non-profit entities as Director of Strategic Partnerships in the Dean’s office. Prior to this position, she spent seven years as Dr. Jan Leach’s molecular plant pathology lab and project manager. She also spent two years as a senior scientist at an algae biofuel start-up.
Jillian earned a B.S. in Biology from SUNY Fredonia, then a M.S. in Plant Pathology and a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from CSU.
Jillian’s portfolio consists of Agricultural Sciences-related technologies, such as food science, plant genetics/breeding, and agricultural microbiology. Jillian also manages the IP from CSU’s robust Wheat Breeding and Potato Breeding Programs (learn more about these programs below).
